Hi, I'm Wintana.
I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (she/her) who helps people stop carrying everything alone.
My story
Many of the people I work with are the dependable ones. They're the eldest daughter, the child of immigrants, the friend everyone calls in a crisis. They've learned to be strong, capable, and self-sufficient. Often that strength came at a cost: anxiety that never fully switches off, guilt about setting boundaries, and the sense of living between two worlds.
I've worked in the mental health field for several years, and I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Along the way, I've seen how much can shift when people finally have a place where they don't have to perform, translate, or hold it together. That's what I offer: a space where you can set the load down for a while.
How I work
My approach is warm, collaborative, and strength-based. I start by making sure you feel heard and understood. Then we look at the patterns that keep you stuck and practise new ways of relating to your thoughts, emotions, family, and yourself.
I'm an integrative therapist, so I draw on several evidence-based approaches and adapt them to you, your culture, and your values. I'm also neurodivergent-affirming, and I support clients with ADHD, autism, trauma, and burnout.
Faith-integrated care
For clients who want it, I offer Christian counselling that brings faith into the healing process. This is always your choice. If faith isn't part of your life, or you'd rather keep it out of therapy, our work will be fully secular.
